Twilight

I just read Twilight. I read it in a day...wow. Record.

All i can say is, i LOVED it, and i think i'm in love with Edward Cullen (but then again, after reading this book, who wouldn't be in love with Edward...). I already have New Moon and Eclipse and i can't wait to DIVE in. But i have errands to run, and tonight is Eve's Retro House Warming party, so Bella and Eward must wait until tomorrow.

A Great and Terrible Beauty

I have at last finished my wonderful book and my adventures with Gemma Doyle have sadly come to an end. I will miss Gemma, Kartik, Ann, Felicity, Mrs. Nightwing and all the rest...i dare say i shall even miss Cecily!! I will take a little break (the book was 820 pages!!) to say goodbye, let the story sink in...and then i will embark on a precious new journey.

i can't wait !!

Cough, Sneeze.... :(

I am sick. For 4 days now i have been moping about in a foul disposition. Every time i eat, my up-chuck reflexes kick in...uuugggh.

On top of it, there was water leaking from old pipes between our apartment and our landlord's. So for 2 days plumbers have been in and out, banging, sawing, cutting off the water supply (i'm drinking plenty of fluids).... and they have left a terrible mess all around, not to mention a huge hole in the wall next to the toilet, exposing the ugly pipes, letting in cold air and bits of my landlord's conversations...

The place is a mess, the dishes are stacked to the ceiling, the laundry has piled up, i'm feeling like crap plus to add insult to injury, i feel the birth of mega zit on the side of my face. I would like to take a bubble bath and wish it all away...except...i have no bathtub in this cursed apartment!!!

Books (again...)

Yesterday, i went downtown to buy my book and i can't wait to dive in! I also bought another book, recommended by my good friend Lindsay over at But Sometimes Icing. It's the Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer. I have heard nothing but praise about these books, and they're about to make the first book into a movie, which means, i should read it and fast !!

Unfortunately the icky casting on the boring show True Blood turned me off on the books. I will read Twilight first.... maybe by then, the show's effects would have worn off.

And so i'm off to read the last book of my trilogy...i love my sabbatical!!

Books Books Books!

On Saturday i finished book 2 of a trilogy that i've been reading and until i get book 3, i think i shall go mad !! It's a Victorian Gothic story about a young girl finding herself and her powers. It's written by Libba Bray and book 3 is called "The Sweet Far Thing" . I breezed through the first two "A Great and Terrible Beauty" and "Rebel Angels" .

But these days, trilogies are not as fun as they used to be. Writers start out a story, claiming that it's a trilogy, and then they pull a fast one on you and say, oops sorry, the story doesn't end here, stay tuned for book 4 which i haven't written yet.. oooh that makes me MAD. This was the case with the Eragon story...which is on hold until the author finishes it... (grrrrrr...).

Because i have nothing to read, i decided to list all the books i've been reading of late.. Gives me something to do other than obsessively watch television!

Once i finish the last book in the series that i'm reading now, i'm going to start on "Dead Until Dark". The HBO True Blood series is based on these books. I hope the books are good, i saw one episode of True Blood and was kind of disappointed.. i just did NOT like Sookie, the main character. I mean Anna Paquin? Ew. And then the casting wasn't really that impressive. Bill the vampire wasn't as hot as a vampire should be. But maybe i'm not giving it a chance. As soon as i read the first book, i will know.

I think next week, i will make my monthly trip to Chapters and stock up on some new reads. Any recommendations are welcome!

Hi again!

I obviously haven't been posting much. No real reason, just life i guess. Sometimes these things happen and i'm not over thinking it. I just haven't really felt like writing.

Here's some news! Benny and i decided to get cable and we now have more channels than we know what to do with! For almost 8 years we each have been living without cable and got used to watching 5 blurry fucking channels. We now have over 200 channels, some in HD! It's awesome, but also overwhelming...you have the regular channels that come with illico digital cable like all the French channels, but twice as many and in HD, we have all the American channels in HD and we also ordered some specialty channels like Sci-fi, Horror, Tech, Nature, Cartoon, Art, HBO, and a few movie channels, one of which plays independent flicks!

Being an obsessive person by nature...it’s taking all my will power not to prop my eyes open with toothpicks in order to take it all in...!!!

Gotta run, Dexter's slicing someone up and he needs my UNDIVIDED attention...

Living a cat's life

Hi everyone. I know i haven't been posting much these days. It's not that i have blog fatigue, or have too much going on (quite the opposite actually!!). I have been sprawled on the couch with Sushi, watching episode after episode of old TV shows, eating and taking naps in between. I thought living a cat's life would be fun, but it made me groggy, tired, irritable and made my brain all mushy and nobody likes a mushy brain (except maybe for Zombies, but let’s not get into that)!!

I've decided to cut myself off for a while. So yesterday, i didn't watch any TV and i'm already feeling better! Look i’ve even posted today :P

I think i'll leave sleeping all day to my cat...

I've started re-watching the entire Ally McBeal series. I think i had forgotten how incredibly fun that show was (i don't quite remember it being so anti-male though). Another thing that i hadn't quite realized was..that it was aired in 1997.... OMFG!!! Eleven years ago!!

I used to be 21 when i first watched this show............zooooooooooooom 32, watching it again, this time on DVD, but still laughing at the same jokes loving everything about it.. the Fishisms, Bygones, the Cappuccinos, the Sculpting Class(i need more clay), the Flea Joke, the unisex bathroom, the ULTRA mini skirts, the Dancing Baby, the Biscuit...OH MAN remember the Biscuit??

I don't like Mondays

I've always loathed Mondays. Sunday nights, i get that icky feeling in the pit of my stomach, like i forgot to do my homework, or that i have a huge week coming up at work, then i wake up and think... FUCK IT’S MONDAY. Even now, when i have no school or work to dread, i still hate Mondays.

Today is certainly no exception...it's a miserable Monday if i've ever seen one.
I feel like staying in bed with the Master of macabre himself, Edgar Allen Poe. He knew all about crappy Mondays the poor fucker.

Well, keep repeating the chorus of this song, i hope it makes your Monday go by quicker.

Gloves

It's a bit cold this morning and my hands are freezing, so i'm wearing leather gloves, while i'm typing this...i guess i wanted to know what it felt like to type with leather gloves on! I know this post is totally pointless, but i wanted to commit it to blog memory. Done.

Now i'm gonna take a nap...with my gloves on!

under the weather

As you may have noticed, my posts have decreased in frequency. I’ve been quite lethargic of late. I somehow caught a bug that totally zapped my energy, chaining me to the Red Bateau Espagnol. I had a couple of days where i felt better, so i indulged in some good old fashioned retail therapy! I went clothes shopping with my sister, and loitering looking for stuff shopping with Benny. I bought lots of loot, and didn’t even break the bank...does this mean that i’ve (gasp) matured? Nha...

Among my discoveries - Lenore, the cute little dead girl. This wonderful graphic novel by Roman Dirge is not for the faint of heart! But if you’re a fan of Johnny the Homicidal Maniac, Squee and Invader Zim from Jhonen Vasquez (also published by Slave Labour Graphics), then you will LURVE this !!
